Die Organisation "Group L’Equipe" hat den Ballon d’Or für das Jahr 2020 abgesagt. In einem offiziellen Statement wurde mitgeteilt, dass die Auszeichnung 2020 ausgesetzt wird. Bisher gewannen Ada Hegerberg 2018 und Megan Rapinoe 2019 den Ballon d’Or.
